NORD-KIVU : Un membre de l’administration du M23 assassiné sur l’axe Kiwanja-Rutshuru

Un homme d’une quarantaine d’années, Tom’s Bandurao, a été tué par balle mercredi 14 Février 2024 dans la nuit sur l’axe routier Kiwanja-Rutshuru centre, dans le territoire de Rutshuru.

Père de famille et habitant du quartier Fuko à Rutshuru centre, Bandurao travaillait pour la commission d’administration du M23 en charge de la gestion des champs de Kahunga et Mabenga.

Selon un habitant du coin sous anonymat, l’assassinat a eu lieu vers 21 heures alors que la victime rentrait de Kiwanja à Rutshuru centre. Son corps a été retrouvé abandonné sur la route le matin de ce jeudi 15 Février et a été transporté à la morgue de l’hôpital général de Rutshuru ce même jeudi.

Les circonstances de l’assassinat n’ont pas encore été éclaircies, mais des sources locales parlent de conflits récurrent entre le M23 et les groupes d’autodéfenses dits Wazalendo.

Notons que cette partie du Nord-Kivu où l’incident s’est déroulé est sous contrôle du M23 depuis déjà plusieurs mois.
