Une forte pluie accompagnée d’un vent violent a frappé le site de déplacés de Bulengo dans la commune de Goma, province du Nord-Kivu en RDC ce jeudi 14 mars 2024 dans les heures d’après-midi.
Le bilan provisoire fait état de deux morts, une quinzaine de blessés et de nombreux dégâts matériels.
Parmi les victimes figurent une femme d’une quarantaine d’années et un bébé de deux mois qui ont été tués par l’effondrement de leur hutte. Plusieurs tonnes de farine ont également été détruites, ainsi qu’une centaine de huttes et plusieurs hangars et toilettes construits par des organisations humanitaires. Le bureau administratif du site a également été endommagé.
« 2 morts, une quinzaine de blessés dont 2 référés vers les structures appropriées, plus ou moins 10 tonnes de farine mouillée au terrain de distribution. Parmi les morts figure une femme déplacée d’une quarantaine d’âges et un bébé d’environ deux mois ont perdu leurs vies après avoir été grièvement blessées par ces huttes et bâtiments démolis par cette pluie » Renseigne jules NGELEZA Président du conseil communal de la jeunesse.
Ce leader de la jeunesse, se dit consterné par cette tragédie et a appelé le Gouvernement Congolais, les organisations humanitaires et les personnes de bonne volonté à venir en aide aux victimes.
