Le maire de la ville de Goma, le Commissaire Divisionnaire Adjoint Kabeya Makosa, a été ce vendredi 23 juin 2023 à l’écoute des enfants qui plaident pour la prise en charge des enfants en situation de rue.
Devant le Maire de Goma, un de ces enfants sous l’accompagnement de l’Organisation Change Your World a déploré ce qui suit : « vivre dans la rue empêche l’épanouissement des enfants, les exposent à des maladies et au manque de nourriture ».
Le maire de la ville après avoir écouté le cri d’alarme de ces enfants, a promi les aider en faisant parvenir leur plaidoyer auprès des organisations humanitaires qui pourront les aider. Il a par la même occasion renforcé le stock alimentaire de l’Organisation Change Your World avec 2 sacs de riz et un bidon d’huile. Ce stock soulagera pour quelques jours les enfants encadrés au sein de cette structure.
Selon Sarah Tambwe, Coordonnatrice de l’Organisation Change Your World, la présence des camps de déplacés autour et dans la ville de Goma gonfle le nombre des enfants en situation de rue. Sarah témoigne qu’en moyenne, elle reçoit 50 enfants dans son organisation par jour. Ces enfants dont certains sont déplacés de guerre viennent pour demander à manger. Cette organisation se trouve plusieurs fois en rupture de stock, témoigne-t-elle.
L’Organisation Change Your World a contacté la campagne Watoto Radio pour venir écouter leur message de plaidoyer devant l’Autorité Urbaine. Une action salué par Watoto Radio qui souhaite que la voix de chaque enfant soit entendue.
