Les autorités de la Direction générale de la Migration (DGM) ont interdit au sénateur Matata Ponyo de quitter la ville de Kinshasa et ont confisqué ses pièces d’identité à l’aéroport de Njili, ce samedi 17 juin, dans les heures de l’après-midi.
Le sénateur, connu en tant président national du parti politique Leadership et gouvernance pour le développement LGD en sigle et ancien premier ministre de la RDC, avait prévu de se rendre dans la province de l’Ituri, plus précisément à Bunia, pour exprimer sa solidarité envers les victimes des affres de la guerre dans cette région du pays.
Johnson Ishara Butaragaza, membre du bureau politique du parti et membre fondateur , a exprimé sa consternation face à ces événements. Lors d’une interview accordée à Au pic de l’infos, il a déclaré : « C’est incompréhensible qu’un sénateur, qui est censé représenter le peuple et posséder des humanités, puisse être traité de la sorte« . Selon lui, le sénateur Matata Ponyo avait prévu de se rendre successivement dans les provinces du Nord-Kivu, du Sud-Kivu et de l’Ituri, dans le cadre d’un programme préétabli.
Le plan initial était de faire une escale à Goma, en transit, avant de se rendre dans la province de l’Ituri. Cependant, à son arrivée à l’aéroport de Njili, lors de la vérification de ses documents, la DGM a pris un temps considérable avant de lui signifier l’interdiction de voyager.
La Direction générale de la Migration a informé le sénateur que, sur ordre de la haute hiérarchie, il lui était interdit de quitter la ville de Kinshasa. Ses pièces d’identité ont été confisquées et, finalement, il lui a été demandé de retourner chez lui à la maison quelques heures après.
Cette décision a suscité l’indignation de plusieurs cadres de l’opposition en Rdc dont Johnson ISHARA BUTARAGAZA, qui estime que de tels actes sont inacceptables, surtout à l’approche des élections présidentielles en République démocratique du Congo. Selon lui, le pouvoir en place devrait au contraire protéger, rassurer et apaiser toutes les sensibilités du pays en ce moment crucial. Il accuse la présidence d’avoir donné l’ordre de limiter les déplacements des potentiels candidats à la présidence lors des élections prévues en décembre 2023, pourtant en tant que congolais, la constitution autorise à tout congolais de circuler librement dans son pays.
